うーん、何と言うか、“フランスであってフランスではない”という感じでしょうか．．．。何か違和感があるような．．国籍はフランスであっても、人間の中身は自身の出身国、みたいな．．．。（何か語弊があったらすいません）
イメージ、ですか。そのエッセイを書かれた方は、実際に英国の方との交流を持っていらっしゃる方でしたが、やはり、いいところばかりではないということ、まだ私達が知らない部分や、移民の方から見た英国とか．．．つまり、エッセイで見た“英国”というのは、同じ英国でもパズルの１ピース分、全体から見た上でのほんの一部分、と言った感じなのでしょうか。
なんか、パズルを全面完成させることは難しそうですが、しかし、気に入った部分を取り入れていく、ということは出来そうですし、尊敬できる部分は尊敬して、愛でたい部分は愛で、直視しなければならない部分はしっかりと直視してゆく．．．今の私には、こういった言葉くらいしか浮かんできません；
でも、苦い部分も甘い部分も汲みこんで、自身の知らない世界に触れられたら、いいなと思います。
長々と話してしまいましたが、ちこさんはどうお考えでしょう．．．？

そうですね、おそらくagasaさんが読まれているエッセイに書いてあるとおりだと思いますし、このホームページに掲載している写真もそういったスタンスでチョイスしています。答えになってないか＾＾；ただ、ご存知とは思いますが、イギリスは階級社会でエスニックマイノリティも多数を占める国家です。エッセイに書かれているのは我々が想像するイギリス人のイメージであってそれが全てというわけではないことを知ってほしいです。今のサッカーフランス代表のメンツや国内の暴動を見て、なにか感じませんか。私はジャマイカ系の黒人の家にステイしましたが、彼らは本の中のイギリス人とは少し違います。
